We began this week where last week left off, with a glorious heatwave!
The natural canopy of our forest has meant we have managed to keep as cool and safe from the sun as possible! On Tuesday, the humidity was on the rise in the forest, and so we had some delicious ice lollies together in our log circle.
At the start of the week, we got creative with some clay modelling, this was after one of the children said they wanted to create an owl, so we decided to use some clay to do so! From owls to snails, our clay modelling in the tuff tray knew no limits.
This week we have also welcomed a busy and active group of holiday camp children! We have enjoyed welcoming back some familiar faces, as well as some new ones too and hope to see them all return for another camp day again in the not too distant future.
A small group of these older children wanted to create a band, so that’s what they did! They were a group of 3 singers that called themselves “The Unicorn Band”. The band treated some of their other forest friends to some songs amongst the trees! When the band needed some more depth, they recruited a new member to play exclusively on the drums.
We have enjoyed our busy holiday camp week, and we hope a splash of rain will help cool us down before the weekend starts!
Have a great weekend one and all!
