Wimbledon - Alien Spaceship!

This week, we have embraced the warm weather by exploring ice play! One super fun activity explored how long it took for ice to melt in different parts of the forest; we placed the ice in sunny and shady areas around camp and then watched and waited…it took a small ice cube 4 minutes and 54 seconds! We have also had lots of fun freezing different items in the ice for our little explorers to explore and rescue and have enjoyed extended discussions about textures, smells and colours. So far, we’ve added dinosaurs, turmeric, and herbs to our ice!

Another popular activity this week saw us enjoying developing our throwing and aiming. With the use of a special box that had lots of small squares inside, the aim was to stand behind a rainbow ribbon and throw small balls into the box, whilst aiming at the squares. We had 2 different heights of boxes so little ones could really challenge themselves too!

Towards the end of the week, we were all surprised when we arrived in the forest to discover a crashed alien spaceship! The children had to work out how it arrived here and then try and safely help them home again in their ship. We decided to also make them some food and allow them to regain their energy before taking off!

What an excellent week we’ve had, we hope you all have a lovely weekend!
