Wimbledon Village - Snack Time Nature Trail!

As December edges closer, the cold snap is back in full force, we have been doing our very best to brave the elements in the Forest! We have put up extra tents, brought out hot drinks for the children to enjoy and have been going on adventure walks every day to keep our blood pumping. Unfortunately, we succumbed to the icey logs and leaves on Thursday morning, as we adopted our plan B, of having meal times inside with adventure walks in the morning and afternoon. This provided us with the opportunity to go and visit Cannizzaro Park, which provided us with a new area to collect natural resources for our arts and crafts! We found feathers, pine cones and enormous leaves to take back with us.

On Wednesday, we turned our morning snack time routine into a nature trail! Educator Paula went off to set up a picnic, and scattered clues on her way. Children then had to find the clues, which would then eventually lead them all the way to Paula! After taking it in turns to locate a clue, eventually we found Paula who had the morning feast ready for us.

We have had a few forest birthdays this week, a big happy birthday to everyone celebrating this week!

We also bid farewell to Karlenne this week, who is off to open the new Little Forest Folk nursery in Winkworth in the new year. Jamie and the team appreciate her assistance these past 7 or so months!

A big thank you to all the families for their adaptability in this crazy weather! Fingers are crossed for a milder Forest week next week.

Have a great weekend one and all!
