Wimbledon Village - Silent Nature Walk!

A week that started off feeling hotter than the Sahara Desert, thankfully settled down very quickly, and our normal-service summer quickly resumed. We were nestled amongst our shady trees, and to be honest, we couldn’t think of a better place to be in such intense heat!

By Tuesday, it was cooler, and so we decided to go on an adventure walk, to see what exploring we could do. We headed down past the natural spring and sought some solace amongst the trees. Educator Laura decided to lead a silent nature walk, where our Little Forest Folk-ers were encouraged to remain quiet so we could see what natural sounds we could hear. From high trees creaking, to small birds tweeting, it was nice to just stop and listen to all these natural sounds that engulf us on the common!

We had a new educator join us this week, Shahana, who brings a kind, outgoing and friendly nature to the team. We are delighted to have her on board!

As you can imagine, we have enjoyed some water play this week too - with our gutters and wooden stands, we have found different and inventive ways to get the water to trickle down the slopes!

On Thursday, we brought some litter-picker grabbers to camp, to allow us to not only clean up litter that we’ve found around us, but they have also been very popular with helping to pick up any natural resources we have found to collect for future activities.

We hope everybody has a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all next week!
