A big welcome back to all of our returning families who have been away for the summer, and a big hello to all of our new families. We know some of your little ones are still taking some time to settle in with us, we can assure you they will get there soon!
We have focused a lot of our time this week on getting the new children used to their new environment, creating fun and stimulating play spaces to give the children things to focus on. Our returning Little Forest Folk-ers have been a big help with this, showing such kindness to their new friends.
This week we had National “Read a Book” day, so we did just that! This coinciding with new children enjoying books, meant that we had a great time reading stories in small groups! Educator Karlenne even dressed up as Winnie the Pooh!
We also incorporated stories into our activities, on Wednesday, after reading the “Rainbow Fish” book, we decided to do our own fishing! We put a groundsheet down, and filled it with water, before adding fish and other sea creatures to the mix. We then located some nets, and fished our own man-made lake!
We also created our very own hungry caterpillars - these consisted of decorating our own plant pots with caterpillar faces, before planting some cress seeds in the pots, in the hope that our caterpillars will eventually grow some cool hair do’s! We are looking forward to seeing how quickly our cress grows!
We hope you all have a great weekend and we’ll see you next week!
