Twickenham - Reading, Discussing and Storytelling!

It has been an exciting and enriching week in the forest. We have provided a number of hands-on activities tied to physical development.

The educators created activities that were not only fun but also offered valuable opportunities for imagination and play. The children put on their “builders hats” and went about repairing the “forest roads.” We witnessed children not only engaged in physical movement but also teamwork and role-playing, boosting their problem solving skills and creativity.

Celebrating national book day with a week of reading outdoors was a great way to promote literacy in a relaxed and natural setting. The blend of reading, discussion, and storytelling in the forest was intended to inspire the children to think creatively and share their thoughts with one another.

Throughout the week we incorporated mixed media into artistic projects. This gave the children another outlet to express themselves, whether it was through building volcanoes for dinosaurs or working with “soil” for plants. The focus on colour, texture, and shape added a sensory element to their learning, connecting them even more deeply with the environment around them.

Welcome to all the new children that have joined us this week. We are also so happy to see some of our children come back from their holidays, it's been a joy to have you back!

See you all next week.
