We had another week of sensory experimentation at Little Forest Folk Wimbledon Village, as we got creative with all sorts of mixtures and textures. Children were let loose with sticky, fiddly, fluffy and slimy materials which they put to good use in the mud kitchen and beyond, cooking up their own potions and concoctions. Using a range of utensils, they tested their strength in stirring and blending while also paying attention to how materials change as they are combined or broken-down using force and pressure.
Elsewhere on camp, educators helped our Little Forest Folk-ers to make themselves into autumnal monarchs! Using the gifts bestowed upon us by the autumn trees, a whole dynasty of kings and queens of the forest emerged with glorious leaf crowns made of oak, birch and maple leaves. Children selected their own favourite leaves and created patterns, carefully plucking leaves from the ground and placing them gently onto the sticky surface of the crown. What a majestic bunch they were!
We wish you a seasonally leafy weekend and look forward to the week ahead!
