This week, we have had a brilliant time in the forest looking at different occupations and learning about what they involve.
On Monday, we set up a forest science lab, where our little explorers were able to pour coloured water into various test tubes!
On Tuesday, we made a forest construction site, as the children helped us to build dens and structures!
On Wednesday, Jamie set up a forest greengrocer… with a twist! At this greengrocer you were able to touch, feel, squeeze and even taste the different fruits and veg on offer. From lemons to courgette, there was a real array of real fruits that our Little Forest Folk-ers were able to play with and explore.
On Thursday, Karlenne set up a forest doctors’ surgery, complete with a waiting room and bandages at the ready to help all of our patients.
On Friday, Dan set up a forest beautician, so if you need a manicure, come on down!
We have embraced the rain this week as it has provided us with opportunities to jump in muddy puddles, we just hope it stays dry enough over the long weekend to allow some of the forest to recover. Another benefit of the increased rainfall this week is that it has also provided us with opportunities to look at slugs and snails more closely, as we have seen record numbers of these come out the last few days!
Enjoy a long weekend one and all, we’ll see you next week!
