Wimbledon - 'Picking to Painting'

Our second week with our holiday campers has been fantastic, everyone has settled into forest life and some great friendships have been formed. All the children have adapted very well to the weeks weather changes too!

One of the many perks of Little Forest Folk is we get to see the woodland in all four seasons and experience the changes. The most recent change we have seen are the blackberries - they’re ripening! The children have enjoyed seeing the transition from green to red and finally black. Both Bunnies and Foxes enjoyed a morning of ‘picking to paint’. The children understood how to be aware of hazards from the blackberry shrubs and started to pick and gather them. Once collected, it was time to mash the berries to release the juice. The children create wonderful colourful art with the berry juice!

Another great hit this week has been the children’s love for music, may that be creating with the instruments or natural resources or listening to musicals. Come rain or shine, they have been jamming! Our Bunnies and Foxes are never too shy to have a good dance and performance - we’ve had many show tickets cut, drawn and handed out! Some of our holiday campers even attend dance clubs outside of the forest, so we have enjoyed watching and cheering them on. We even spotted some of the younger children watching and copying their cool moves to join in.

We look forward to what adventures next week brings!
