Wimbledon - Painting, Mark Making and Dancing!

This week we have been really focused on rebuilding and repurposing a bird house that we found. Our children at Little Forest Folk Wimbledon are so interested in the birds around the forest and finding ways to look after them, so when we found a bird house that needed a bit of help the children were so happy! We found some pieces of wood to attach to the house and sat down to measure them. We used a tape measure and each took turns to mark out where to cut. Then everyone got a chance to use the saw to cut through the wood. We then used a hammer and nails to hammer it into place and put the bird house back together. This is a project for in the forest and we will continue to work on it as the weeks go on.

We have also had lots of fun with testing out our balancing skills on the slack line this week. It is a great way to practice our strength and balance as we walk along the rope from tree to tree. Each child has the chance to take part and our little ones were able to do it just as well as our bigger explorers!

There has also been lots of painting, mark making and dancing this week. We have created beats using the instruments in the forest, as well as making our own from sticks and mud kitchen equipment.

It has been a wonderful week as we edge closer to the summer break! We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
