Mushrooms and puddles galore!
This week the children at Wimbledon have spent lots of time investigating the space around us and seeing what new things they can all find.
One of our favourite things to do this week has been checking to see the shape and sizes of the mushrooms growing around us. We have used our special books to see if we can match the pictures to the real item. This is a brilliant way for the children to learn about the different things that grow in our forest and also to make sure we are staying safe.
We have also done lots of mark making this week, including story writing. The children all took it in turns to write each line of our story and this made such a wonderful forest tale about giants and trees and dinosaurs!
There has also been some wonderful imaginative play where the children have taken on different characters and roles in their games, adding in their storylines along the way.
Watching the way in which the forest shapes so much of the children’s lives is so amazing. The smallest mushroom can become the biggest excitement and the joy it can bring is an incredible sight to see. We hope you have a lovely weekend and can’t wait to see you all again next week!
