Wimbledon - Digging the Heat

It’s been super-hot this week, but it hasn’t stopped us having the best time in the forest!

The children spent time using water pistols to help them cool down, as well as having incredible water systems with pumps and tubes. We also did some amazing fossil digging with the children. They had lots of fun using tools to chip away at the clay to find different kinds of fossils and shells. We then looked in the booklet to work out exactly which fossil it was.

When we were in the forest, we also went on some adventure walks, looking for more water. We found the stream and took some time to make splashes and ripples using sticks and stones we found around us. It was a chance for the children to look at shapes and sizes of stones and work out the effect they were going to have when being thrown in.

We have also started saying goodbye to some of our children and getting ready to send them off to their next adventures. It’s a sad, but very exciting time for us all!
