This week at Wimbledon we have been doing lots of big hunts! Along the way, we have noticed some little frogs hopping around on the meadow and the children have had a wonderful chance to look at them up-close. We have been exploring their little homes as well, making sure that the grass is nice and wet but also long. It was great to watch as the children noticed all the different parts of the frogs and could speak about their colours and sizes.
There have also been so many friendships formed this week as our newer children begin to settle into their new environment and routines. We have been sharing about who is in our family and getting to know each other a bit more. One way we have done this is by making little families with leaves. Our little explorers chose the sizes of leaves they wanted to use and then we drew faces on each one to represent someone in our family. Our little adventurers were very creative with their artwork, using the smaller leaves to represent the children, the bigger ones as parents, and the older leaves were grandparents. It was such a lovely way to use the natural items around the forest as a way of bringing our friends closer together!
Such a brilliant week in the forest! With it showing signs of autumn and our Little Forest Folk-ers settling in so well, we look forward to another amazing week ahead!
