Our second week of the spring holidays has been filled with lots of fun and excitement!
We have done some wonderful cooking; making date and chocolate lollipops. We also visited a different frog pond to our usual one on our day at the scout hut and spotted hundreds and hundreds of tadpoles! As well as this, there has been some more tool work to create our bee hotel, expanding our children’s ability to use the drill and test their skills.
There have been so many chances for fun this week and it has been great to see our older holiday camp children get involved too. The tool work to create the bee hotel was fantastic because it was a chance for children of all ages to put their tool skills to the test. No matter what their age, they could all take turns and have a go at drilling as many holes as possible for the bees. It was also great to see the children enjoy learning about why we need to create the hotel for the bees who do not have a hive.
We also had the absolute treat of finding an abundance of tadpoles in the nearby pond this week. Taking along jars, jugs and bowls, we managed to scoop out the water and see the tadpoles swimming around inside. As we had a closer look, our little explorers could see their faces and tails very clearly. It was very exciting for everyone!
It has been such a lovely week for our second week of holiday camp, and we look forward to welcoming back our sessional friends next week!
