Wimbledon - Adventure Walkers

There is no question that the sun has been out in full force recently, but that just means that our children have the perfect reason to be outdoors! From water play, to building dens in the shade, there is always something for our little explorers to enjoy.

This week one of the activities we have been doing is adventure walks. We always love these, but this week they have been even more interesting and exciting as we have been looking at the differences in the forest around us. We have noticed the lack of water in the ponds, but we still managed to see so many little frogs! Our children were able to sit and watch as they hopped around and we had so many discussions about where they lived, what they ate and where they could be hopping to. We also had a very fun time in the hot weather by going for a paddle in the river. The children all put on their water shoes and went in for a splash! We made paper boats and raced them down the river at the same time as cooling ourselves down.

When we haven’t been out walking, our Little Forest Folk-ers have been taking part in activities where they can make their own paper butterflies or paint a large clear sheet.
It’s been a week of excellent activities and bundles of fun!
