Wandsworth - Water misting fun!

What beautiful weather we’ve had in the forest this week! We’re lucky to have the canopy cover to keep us cool, along with water misting! The children have had great fun this week, squealing with glee as they were chased around the forest with the water mister.

The Red Team started the week off with a new obstacle course and we have been so impressed at their growing confidence to tackle it themselves. We used a wooden plank between two logs as a springboard which the children loved bouncing as high as they could from! The children also practised rolling a football along the planks. In the forest, the children have been enjoying drawing pictures in the ground with sticks, including a sea monster that the ‘pirates’ had to face while onboard a stick-ship sailing a treacherous sea! Delicious concoctions have been made this week, and we roasted leaf-marshmallows over a pretend campfire. We had to blow them cool - some were a bit burnt! One child spotted a frog, which was a real treat, and we misted them with water to keep them cool.

To kick the week off to a relaxing start, the Green Team practised some yoga in the bell tent. Later in the week, the children headed out on an adventure walk and shouted to say hello to Grandma in her cottage. The children discovered a stream and balanced or bottom-shuffled across logs to reach the other side. They spotted a little frog too, which was very exciting! The Green Team made some wonderful creations this week, with bendy holly branches and string; faerie headdresses, faerie wings, fishing nets and a guitar were just some of the constructions built. The Green Team played a distanced game of musical bumps and statues with the Red Team and really enjoyed grooving to the music. Everyone was a brilliant statue, and we had some wibbly-wobbly jellyfish too!

The sun has brought out so many smiles and giggles. We can’t wait to see such happy faces again next week. Have a lovely weekend!
