In the evergreen lushness of Paradise, the children grinned and giggled from morning till afternoon. Under the luscious canopy of leafy branches, children worked terrifically as a team fashioning oaken necklaces and bracelets. Under the watchful supervision of our educators some children held a branch down firmly, as Marlon sawed off some circles. The children had an opportunity to develop their woodworking skills; using a hand drill to punch through the circles and apply their strings and ribbons to their creatively crafted jewellery.
A special mention must be given to the idyllic atmosphere of the afternoon, in which the children and educators gathered around a rich and crackling fire. Accompanied by the gentle, melodic twang of Joe's guitar, it was a truly merry gathering.
We all took advantage of the advent of spring, enjoying some terrific adventure walks on Wimbledon Common. The children enjoyed a moment of tranquillity - looking out over the peaceful, duck-filled lake. On another walk they peered about to look for the skipping rabbits that have become more present amongst the thickets and shrubs in Spring.
At the main camp, in the art section all manner of wondrous unicorns and stars were stuck together on felt collages. Crowds of children have gathered to hear classic fairy tales between energetic sessions of bouncing! Trampolining themselves into states of laughter as they bobbed and jolted on the slacklines and ropes! It has been a very happy site. Have a great weekend, everyone!
