Another splendid week passes. Paradise continues to be an idyllic spot for the children to sculpt clay and race about. The mud kitchen was splodgy and bustling as the "cupcakes" came in and out of the oven! We connected an elaborate number of white strings to make a gigantic spider-web for the children to play in. They certainly took delight in this as they untangled and pushed through the strings to escape it!
At the common, this week, our educator – Dan – led us on one of our most action packed adventure walks yet! It has been sensational to have the opportunity to show the children an entire new area of the common. We found a great ditch for the children to stomp in, or if they'd prefer, to cross over with the help of some sturdy branches. Taking some little bags with us, the children were on a mission as they plucked at the multitude of blackberries scattered through the thickets of bramble. Their bags were quite full on our return to camp.
At the camp the children have had a jolly time surrounded by all their usual comforts. In addition to this we have had some terrific building projects that some of the children have participated in. Using teamwork to carry the heavier branches, they set about making their own house and stacking the sticks into walls. In the arts area, the children made some tremendous stick-puppets, with the help of our educators - Zofia and Maria - and treated their friends to a little puppet show during the afternoon snack. Applause and happiness abound!
We are delighted to have enjoyed a mix of old and new activities with the children! It has been a positive experience for all involved. Have a great weekend everyone!
