Wandsworth - Cress Crazy

Amongst the many awesome activities and fabulous fun, many children began the week with an opportunity to design cress head cups. A Little Forest Folk-er kindly brought in a packet of cress seeds for us to play with, and with a dozen recycled coffee cups, paper, glue and pens, we were good to go.

Children practiced circles for eyes, triangles for noses and steady controlled lines for happy smiles. Filled with sandy soil, and sprinkled with “hundreds and thousands of seeds” we hope some of you get to enjoy some cress soon.

Over in the forest, drawing and snipping continued with educators taking the time to ask children about their drawings to help them narrate a story. These sentences were written to the side with children inspired to join in with great attempts at writing names and practicing their letters or trying out different strokes and shapes which help them progress in this area. As always, the little stories were delightfully magical with all the joy and wonder these young minds contain!

We hope you’ve all had a good week and that you’re able to have a lovely, relaxing weekend!
