Twickenham - Celebrating Superheroes!

What a wonderful, fun week we have had in the forest! It’s been a week full of superheroes, with a different theme each day to enjoy!

One day, we had a lot of fun celebrating our own ‘Hulk day’, where we all made hulk masks. We also made volcanoes which had red and orange paint mixed in with water to make a realistic lava effect. As well as this, our mud kitchen became a science lab, where our little scientists could explore and play with all sorts of experiments!

Next up, we focused on another of our favourite superheroes! Over on the craft table, we had some clay, sticks, and wool so that everyone could make their own spiders and webs. In the book corner we had fact books about different spiders, and some of the children were also drawing their own masks and spiders too.

On another day we focused on space superheroes. In the middle of the forest, we had a big rocket made from cardboard, which became the centre of many role-play activities. Over at the craft table we had watered down paint and pipettes, and everyone had a great time using these to create beautiful galaxy patterns on round wooden discs.

On Thursday, in true Little Forest Folk style, we couldn’t resist celebrating National Mud Day! Everyone had a fabulous time exploring our mud pool and on the craft table we swapped paints for our own, readily available forest medium, and all had a wonderful time doing some mud painting.

What an amazing week it’s been, we can’t wait to see you all next week!
