Twickenham - Arts, Crafts and Cheerful Songs

Oh how time flies! Can you believe we are in the last month of the year? We can definitely feel the chilly and cold December weather, and for our Little Forest Folk-ers, this means we can watch our dragon breaths and warm up with our cosy fleece, hats, and dressing up capes and be superheroes!

Our week was filled with fun celebrations, lots of arts and crafts, and cheerful songs. Our fine motor skills were at work as we painted English and Welsh flags (for the big football match!), Christmas trees and snowmen and enjoyed sensory play with pretend snow. We also enjoyed making mud birthday cakes as well as munching on real birthday cakes as we celebrated the birthdays of two of our friends. From singing the Happy Birthday song several times this week, to belting out Christmas songs, our voices resonated with the variety of musical instruments we played.

On the first day of December, our new team member Lisa, creatively came up with our very own forest advent calendar. Instead of opening little windows on a traditional calendar, the children needed to search for little presents hidden around the forest and open it up to unfold a fun activity, challenge, or act of kindness we could do for each day. We warmed up by saying out loud, “Hello, December!”

How exciting will the following weeks be, with our fun filled December activities! See you all soon!
