Twickenham - A Zoo Themed Week!

Wow what an amazing week we have had in the forest! This week has been zoo themed, with the children learning about where animals live and what they like to eat. The Little Forest Folk-ers turned themselves into cheeky monkeys, swinging from the trees, scary tigers prowling the forest floor, and even snapping crocodiles ‘swimming’ in the rivers below. Many zoo-riffic songs have been sung this week too, with a firm favourite being, ‘Five Cheeky Monkeys’.

Nimble fingers have been constructing dens this week, as the monkeys have been busy tying knots to build their nests and houses. Monkeys are good climbers, and that is exactly what our Little Forest Folk-ers have been occupying themselves with this week - who can climb to the top of our tallest tree? Who can swing the highest? What excellent climbing monkeys we have!

The children had a big surprise this week - a visit from our local firefighters! Everyone excitedly took turns spraying the hose, wearing the heavy helmets, and even sitting in the fire engine! With such excitement, many role-plays followed, as the children made their own fire engines out of cardboard boxes and planks, putting out all of the ‘forest fires’. Good job!
