Putney Heath - Icy adventures

Icy adventures

We ended last week with a super sunny day on the meadow where the children embarked on a special stickman hunt. The children were given clues by one of our educators and they worked together to find the different coloured stickmen.

Entering the new week, we were welcomed with some beautiful icy weather which allowed for some incredible icy adventures on the cricket pitch before heading onto camp. The children enjoyed looking at the frosty grass and breaking the ice in the frozen puddles. Once on camp the children enjoyed creating some puppets out of lollipop sticks, pipe cleaners and other creative materials!

Further into the week, the icy weather continued, and the children were very curious as to why the icy bench on the cricket pitch looked sparkly. Some children came up with the idea that it was a magical bench that could fly around the forest. We love the icy magical feel here at Putney Heath.

A brilliant bug hotel was constructed later this week. The children spent a whole morning working together to collect big logs and sticks to put on the pile. They also used the big purple buckets to collect lots of leaves to place on top to give the bugs and insects warmth. The bug theme continued throughout the day with some of the children pretending to be butterflies. They flew around the forest, protecting each other and their butterfly families.

We ended the week with some very brave Forest Folk-ers swinging as high as they could on the swing, some even touching the branches of the trees above!

We have had a wonderful week here at Putney Heath and hope you all have a great weekend!
