This week, we delved into the rich history of our forest, uncovering its treasures and traditions while creating new memories together.
Our week began with a grand adventure walk, where we ventured into unexplored parts of the forest. Along the way, we discovered ponds, counted ducks, and learned about their habits and origins. Our journey extended towards Wimbledon Village, where we found the famous Roly Poly Hill! The children raced up and down, laughing and enjoying the woodland to its fullest.
In honour of Thanksgiving, we read Thanks for Thanksgiving, a heartwarming story that reminded us of all the wonderful people and things in our lives. Inspired by the festive food in the story, we embarked on a wild cooking adventure to make pumpkin pancakes. Using pumpkin purée from America, sugar, eggs, flour, and cinnamon, our little chefs whipped up a delicious treat! Afterward, we gathered in the clubhouse garden for our very first fire pit, watching as the fire was carefully built and enjoying warm milk as our afternoon snack.
Exploring history further, we dived into the fascinating world of fossils. Painting sticks as bones, we created a fossil scavenger hunt around camp. The children loved learning how fossils form over time and piecing together the "prehistoric" clues.
We are thrilled to welcome you all to our Autumn Festival and Christmas Celebrations this weekend. Thank you for a week full of exploration, laughter, and discovery!
