The forest is alive with the sound of music…
Putney Heath was filled with sounds of laughter and song this week as the children dressed as rock stars from head to toe. Geared with microphones, guitars and drumsticks, they created their own beats and requested their favourite tunes to play on the speaker. The educators joined in, which turned the camp into one massive dance party. The little ones were movin’ and groovin’ all week long.
As the Little Forest Folk-ers learned new songs, they also began building new friendships. It was the second full week since the children have returned from their summer holidays and relationships are blossoming. The children, guided by their educators, are getting to know one another and it has been ever so lovely to observe. The older children have been looking out for the little ones and have shown them the ways of the forest.
Due to the warmer weather, splashing and sploshing has been a must. Water play has been an absolute dream and the young ones have had the best time chasing their educators around the forest with spray bottles. We will miss the sun’s rays as the temperature drops.
Every week, the slack lines provide a new adventure and lately, the children have taken it into their own hands. Working together with guidance from one of our forest school experts, they wrap the slack lines and ropes around the trees, pulling and looping as they go. Their current fixation is figuring out how to tie knots. The week has come to a close but the adventures in the forest will last and continue on into next week. The educators are delighted to see the little settlers transform into Little Forest Folk and are eager for next week. Have a lovely weekend and we will see you soon.
