Stars, Bread and Ho Ho Ho
The Little Forest Folk-ers of Putney Heath have spent their week following their celebratory mood with plenty of Santa themed role plays and festive crafts.
The week started off with a baking session with the soundtrack of raindrops falling onto the roof of the club house. We all worked together as a team to create some 'bread men' from a traditional dough recipe from Switzerland. The children practiced their excellent turn taking when adding the different ingredients into a big bowl and having a go at kneading the dough. Everyone had an opportunity to show their strength and kneading technique, as it had to knead for 10 minutes!
Many adventure walks happened this week. On Monday we headed back to the pond to see if it was still frozen, while on another day we walked over to the big meadow where the children decided to return the following day with the litter pickers to collect all the rubbish we saw on our walk.
In the middle of the week a trail of stars led the children to camp, taking them on an unfamiliar path. The children appeared at camp proudly showing all the stars they managed to collect.
We wish you all a magical and restful festive period and look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year.
