It has been wonderful welcoming everyone back into the new year this week. The children and educators have been filled with so much excitement about the adventures there are to be had this year.
At the beginning of the week the children got stuck into muddy play as the rain allowed for muddy puddles and the perfect type of mud to bake lots of mud cakes and forest treats. The children experimented with different ways to use the mud and certainly enjoyed trying to make the biggest splashes in the puddles.
A highlight of our week has to be our amazing forest swing. This always gives children the opportunity to enhance their physical development and confidence and it is wonderful to watch the endless fun they can have swinging up and down. The children showcased exceptional turn taking skills, using the egg timer as a guide to know when each child’s turn was.
Another fantastic highlight of the week was our tool work session, where the children had the opportunity to make their own tree cookie necklace under supervision of an educator. The children carefully listened to the tool instructions and successfully used a bow saw to cut through wood to create a small tree cookie. They then used a hand drill to create a hole in the top of the wood to then thread a piece of string through to create the necklace.
What a wonderful week it has been, we can’t wait to see you all next week for more adventures!
