We have had a fantastic week here at Putney Heath, welcoming our holiday campers into the forest, exploring the wonders of the autumnal woodland around us, and taking part in some wonderful activities to celebrate Diwali.
The children enjoyed using some of our new stencils which had different mandalas on them. The children painted over them with orange and red paints to create some truly wonderful prints on cardboard and paper. The patterns represented some of the patterns and symbols associated with Diwali, so it was a great way to recognise and celebrate this festival.
We have absolutely loved having our holiday campers with us, seeing both familiar and new faces. We embarked on a magical mushroom adventure around the forest, and we found some truly remarkable mushrooms. We even found one that was bigger than the children’s heads and you can see the amazed faces some of us had in the pictures!
The children have also had amazing fun on the swing and chasing away some scary tigers and also working together to put out imaginary fires around the forest.
What a marvellous week we’ve had here in the forest. We wish you all a restful weekend and we are looking forward to welcoming back the sessional day children for another fantastic week next week :)
