A Winter Wonderland!
We have had an exceptional week here at Putney Heath, filled with lots of exciting activities. We ended last week with our incredible festival of lights, celebrating the year and finally lighting up our beautiful owl lanterns. What an incredible and heartwarming evening we all shared together.
The new week welcomed some colder weather and the children have been busy getting ready for the Christmas festivities. The children had the opportunity to use our new snowflake stencils to create some magical Christmas decorations. The children used silver, blue and white paint to paint over the stencils and added some string through the top of the cardboard so they could hang them up.
We have all been enjoying some Christmas sing-a-longs and dancing around the forest to keep us warm. The children turned into Rudolph and delivered presents to all the children whilst singing along to ‘Ruldolph the Rednosed Reindeer”.
We have also enjoyed looking at the wonderland of frost covering our cricket pitch and leaves and watching as the frost sparkles in the sunlight.
Later this week the children engaged in some fantastic tool work where they were able to use one of our bow saws to create some tree cookie Christmas decorations. The children showcased their amazing tool skills and their ability to listen to rules and instructions. The decorations they created were simply magical and we cannot wait to see what other creations are made in the following weeks :)
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe and warm.
