The Little Forest Folk-ers have enjoyed another week full of wild imagination and new friendships in the forest.
After many weeks based on Monkey Camp, the children and their educators decided to switch things up and create a different camp site. Boundaries were set, rainbow ribbons scattered about and voila, a new camp was born! The explorers have not decided on a name just yet but were encouraged to brainstorm over the weekend for the following week.
Not only has the camp site changed, but many new little ones and educators have joined the forest as well. The children have been nothing but welcoming, kind and caring. Watching the new relationships blossom has been spectacular. Rules are being taught and the invitations to play are endless.
Dragons, royals and pirates…oh my! The Little Forest Folk-ers were very busy building shields and swords to pretend and protect this week. If they weren’t slaying dragons, they were busy knighting and rescuing a prince or princess. The den was repurposed to a pirate ship, firing cannons at their enemies on the seas. ‘Rrr matey’ could be heard throughout the forest.
The slack lines were hung between trees and grew to ginormous spider webs over the course of five days. The children practised their balance, coordination and turn taking. As the days passed, more ropes were used. The children’s confidence in handling new materials grew as well and they began spinning their own webs, catching any bug who flew past.
What a fabulous week in the woods, have a lovely weekend!
