Frosty Folk
What a beautiful week it has been to be immersed in nature this week as we have enjoyed some beautiful Winter sunshine here at Putney Heath.
We started of the week diving into a muddy Monday as our forest had experienced some more wet weather over the weekend. The children enjoyed listening to the sounds of the mud beneath their feet and seeing how big of a splash they could make in the big puddles.
The children have also continued to stay active through the week with balancing challenges, tree climbing and taking it in turns to use the swing! It was great to see our little ones waiting patiently for their turn and working out whose turn it was next.
Mid-week this week, the children enjoyed creating an erupting volcano! They worked together to collect natural materials and model clay into the desired shape around a measuring cylinder. Then, after Lara added a sprinkle of baking powder, the children took it in turns to add some vinegar and watched in awe at the magical eruption that followed on their wonderful volcano. Wow!
Later in the week in order to enjoy the beautiful winter sunshine we ventured to the meadow! The children were delighted to explore the frosty fields, exploring the cracks in terrain and the ivy beneath the pear tree. It was also pleasing to appreciate the glowing feeling as the sun beamed down warming us through our many winter layers as we read facts about Dinos and delved into the life of Sir David Attenborough in the book area.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to our adventures across the Heath next week!
