Putney Heath - Cracking Conkers!

Wow what another fantastic week we’ve had here at Putney Heath. We’ve had lots of exciting activities to engage in and a few more new faces to welcome too.

At the beginning of the week the children embarked on a conker collecting adventure to the big conker tree not far from camp. When the children arrived they noticed that a few conkers were falling from the trees. We had to be super careful not to get bumped on the head with their spiky shells and the children told everyone to put a helmet on. One of our educators wasn’t so lucky though…. a conker fell onto her work phone and smashed it! Nonetheless the children quickly collected as many conkers as they could and wow what a big collection they created!

We headed back to camp where the children enjoyed rolling their conkers down ramps and tubes. They held small competitions to see whose conker could reach the furthest!

A colourful mid-week activity engaged all the children. The educators brought out the big, colourful parachute and the children enjoyed; shaking it up and down, playing cat and mouse and trying to make a mushroom house 🍄 this activity brought endless fun for everyone and put a smile on all our faces!

The children have been hard at work hammering in some nails into wood using their amazing strength, control and motor skills. The children attached old bottle caps and coffee capsules to wood using nails to create different creatures 🐉

We have had an action-packed week here at Putney Heath and we look forward to another week full of adventures!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody :)
