Putney Heath - Caterpillar Crafts

We have had a fantastic week here at Putney Heath filled with an array of amazing activities!

Our creepy crawly caterpillars must be one of our highlights this week, providing our children with heaps of fun and laughter. The children had the opportunity to create their own caterpillars using kitchen roll, pens, and chopsticks! The children decorated their square of tissue paper and then once they had finished, they wrapped it tightly around the chopsticks. After scrunching the kitchen roll up tightly into the middle of the chopsticks, they took the kitchen roll off and placed it onto a plate. The children then poured a small amount of water onto their caterpillars and were in awe whilst they were watching them grow and wiggle about the plate!

Another highlight of the week has to be our wonderful leaf necklaces. The children showed off their amazing fine motor skills whilst carefully threading twine through different sized leaves using a plastic needle. The children wore their necklaces with pride and were quick to show off their amazing creations to all the educators.

What a fantastic week we’ve had here. We hope you all have a restful weekend!
