This week was made for playing, with happy times never ending in the forest amongst the children.
Our week’s highlights included creating puppet shows using our child and educator constructed theatre, which was an ongoing project over the past few weeks where the children had the opportunity to practice using the forest school tools to help build it. The children led tales entertaining their peer audience, inviting audience participation using personal props. It was wonderful to see the little ones’ confidence blossom as they entered the stage.
Through the week with nature related activities and experiences, the children continued to bond with the forest whilst developing a connection to our outdoor setting. Our little explorers created gifts for the forest, for example: using natural materials to make a garland decoration.
We are now beginning to experience the forest in the autumn season, the season brings with it the rain which is perfect for bug and insect hunts. This is one of the children’s favourite activities, providing the opportunity to teach a respectful and gentle relationship with the creatures we share the space with.
Happy weekend, let further adventures begin!
