This week in the forest, our Little Forest Folk-ers have been loving preparing for the festive season - we have been using some pinecones which we collected on one of our adventure walks recently to make a little Christmas tree! The children glued the pinecone to a cardboard base, then painted them green and used little decorations around to add a personal design! It’s wonderful to watch the children develop their tastes for what they like to use when making art!
Another cool crafty activity has been adding decorations to the numbers we cut out of cardboard - the children have chosen from pumpkin seeds, beads, and other natural resources to fill in the shapes.
There's nothing the children love more than some tool use - and they have been hard at work this week helping to fix up our puppet show stage by using hammer and nails to make it extra secure. When the children join our tool use area, they are always able to tell us each important rule to keep themselves and their friends safe - we have been so very impressed with the children's ability to listen and take care of each other, while being able to enjoy such an exciting activity.
Another excellent week, we can’t wait to see what’s in store next week!
