The cold snap this week brought along a host of adventures with it to Morden! There was no sitting still as our little adventurers found the best ways to keep warm.
Some of our Little Forest Folk-ers set off for an adventure walk this week, where they investigated the winter wildlife and the last of the falling leaves. Back in the setting the children worked together to make their own tree collage for national tree week! They stuck the fallen leaves down and later mixed red, yellow and black together to make the brown for the tree trunk.
Alongside this the children have been designing their own obstacle courses to keep warm with everyone contributing so many creative ideas.
Christmas has been on everyone's mind! Our forest has been full of the sound of “Jingle Bells” as some of our Little Forest Folk-ers took to the microphone and performed some amazing concerts for the educators. The performance wouldn’t be complete without a rendition of “Let it go” from Frozen of course...
The forest has had some very restful moments too, for all of us to enjoy the crisp, fresh winter air. Children have been involved in creating their own clay Christmas decorations. They also made some gorgeous smelling christingles by pressing cloves into satsumas. Our adventurers really enjoyed smelling the orange and clove scent as it mixed together "Ah, smells like Christmas!"
Best of all, everyone has been helping each other with their gloves and hats. We’re so glad to see all the children being so kind and gentle and looking out for their friends.
