Fulham - Wild Cooking to Potion Making

This week in the Fulham Forest has been nothing short of a fun packed week!

We started off the week where the children got to participate in a wild cooking session creating fruit and vegetable faces on plates. After selecting the fruit and veg they wanted, the children got to cut it all up into different shapes then rearranged it on their plates to make silly and funny faces. The best part was getting to eat it all up at the end, yummy!

We got quite creative making and designing our own ‘glueing and sticking’ pictures where we used natural resources such as leaves and created some pictures by sticking the leaves onto our paper.

Another great focused activity saw the children creating potions. Using herbal tea bags and water the children got to scoop, mix and stir creating their own little potions in pots. This got the children’s imaginations really flowing as they began role playing with the potions and imagining they could use the potions to transform each other into different animals.

We created some sea saws using planks and logs which the children seemed to really enjoy and we also created some amazing small world islands with the cars for the children to explore.

Towards the end of the week we have been teaching the children dominoes where the children have to find the matching pictures to line them up together which has been really fun.

Another popular activity has been using sticks and string to create our own little fishing rods. Then tying a leaf to the end to make a fish, the children used these in their play to go fishing.

What a fantastic week it’s been, we hope you all have a lovely weekend!
