Fulham - water play

Well we’ve had an extra little slice of summer to indulge in this week although we were very happy that the temperature decided to stay below 30!

Our kids have revelled in water play of different kinds and enjoyed an afternoon cool down with cool, wet paper towels to wipe over hot arms and faces and to squeeze into their hair. The mud kitchen is becoming more and more social as the children choose to share resources and collaborate their efforts.

Some of our children chose to take part in focus activities like practicing writing or watching carefully while their friends tried, observing and learning at their own pace. Many took part in helicopter stories with an educator writing down each child’s story in their own words before reading it aloud to the group. It is so lovely to have them run up, giddy with excitement, brandishing their written story to share it with you proudly before carefully stowing it away in their backpack to take home.

We have been learning a new song that Gemma brought to camp about a soap eating turtle. The children have started being able to sing it independently while playing so I’m sure it will start making its way home soon if you haven’t heard it already. We love it when our kids get excited about music, sometimes picking up sticks to pretend at playing instruments or just having a good old wiggle around! We are a musical bunch so we love to share in these moments with them and each other... maybe we should form a band.

We hope you all have magical weekends and cannot wait to see what next week brings!
