Fulham - Outbursts of Colourful Patterns!

So as another week in the Fulham Forest comes to a close, as always the children have had the most amazing learning opportunities and have taken part in some really cool activities.

At the beginning of the week the children really enjoyed the adventures away from camp, having the opportunity to explore and play in the adventure playground and seeing the most adorable baby Egyptian geese when we went on a nice walk around bishops park by the pond.

Developing our fine motor skills this week, the children got quite creative in making some bracelets using the alphabet beads, really concentrating on being able to thread the individual beads onto their string. This also gave the children the opportunity to think about familiar letters and wanting to spell out their own names by finding the individual letters to do so. Some of the children even wanted to turn them into hair beads!

It’s always great having a theme for the forest and one day we transformed camp into a pirate theme by creating an amazing wooden crate pirate ship which, I must say, the children thoroughly enjoyed!

Alongside this, in the creative area the children crafted some pirate hats and pirate eye patches which they then used to role play being great pirates.

Towards the end of the week our Fulham children got very colourful and had the opportunity to tie dye some fabric. This activity was so much fun, the children loved assisting to help use the rubber bands to tie up parts of the fabric, then came the super fun part of squirting the different coloured dye all over our fabric to create an outburst of colourful patterns!

So, as you can see our week has been a fun-packed and exciting one and we are all excited to see what we get up to next week here in the Fulham Forest!
