Fulham - Mushroom Hunting!

Weโ€™ve had a great week here at Fulham Camp! ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŒ

๐Ÿ„ We have been mushroom hunting around the palace, finding fungi of many different shapes, sizes and colours in the nature playground.

๐Ÿ›– On a rainy day we had a fantastic idea to fashion our own den. We looked for inspiration pictures and children considered how these constructs were made. โ€œWe can collect branchesโ€ โ€œWe need big onesโ€ โ€œWe can use stones and leavesโ€. So, we listened to the little onesโ€™ big ideas and went hunting for some big branches and attempted to balance them in a โ€˜tripodโ€™ shape. Our little adventurers had the great idea to leave the den for the palace cat Monkey to sleep in, or as a big hotel for creepy crawlies. We will be continuing to develop our den-making skills and really focusing on constructing sturdy structures.

๐Ÿ† There is a new patch inside the Walled Garden, growing pumpkins and squashes. We had a wonderful time describing the characteristics of the fruits as they were of varying sizes and patterns. We started to discuss Halloween and how we use pumpkins to decorate, which we will of course be doing in the forest closer to the time!

๐Ÿงช What does dissolvable mean? We did an exciting, focused science experiment where we explored which materials are dissolvable in different substances. We experimented with oil and water, and mixed in salt, sugar, glitter, pigment powder and even sprinkles!

๐Ÿ’ช We set up a boot-camp inspired assault course, featuring an army net for our little explorers to crouch and crawl underneath. Little ones crouched onto their knees and shuffled themselves forward with their elbows.

What a fantastic week, we hope you all have a great weekend!
