Fulham - Making Sticky Nature Frames!

As the sun sets for another week in the Fulham forest our children have had the most amazing time enjoying all of the learning opportunities and activities provided for them this week.

Those warm sunny days this week have called for some ice play to keep cool, which has been brilliant to keep our little explorers super engaged and curious. Popping some of our sea creatures into the ice added to the fun as the children came up with some great ideas such as using sticks to bash the ice in order to free the small world sea creatures from their icey traps!

We are so lucky to be around nature all day and this week we’ve made the most of this, by taking part in activities such as making sticky nature frames and using natural resources such as leaves and pine cones in our creative areas to make beautiful printed patterns with paint.

A great activity to develop our fine motor skills involved practising our scissor control and really had our children concentrating whilst they attempted to follow the lines and shapes to cut them out.

To promote and encourage our little explorers to be more eco-aware this week, an activity was prepared to make our own recycled paper. After awesome teamwork tearing up the newspaper into little bits and adding lots of water, we began the fun part of mixing it all together using our hands to form a large paper slush. Then, by making balls and flattening it down the children were able to produce their own little pieces of recycled paper.

We have been working on encouraging and promoting more maths learning opportunities in camp and one activity provided just that! Using little pincers, the children were able to sort out little pom-pom balls by picking them up and placing them whilst sorting them into the right numbered circles.

After a busy week here in the Fulham forest we are excited to provide more unique learning opportunities for our children and watch as they get up to new adventures on camp next week, we hope you all have lovely weekends!
