What a fun week in the forest
Using sticks to build us a house
Bugs and birds all flying around
And we even saw a mouse!
We think he has a little house
Under the roots of a tree
We decided that his name was John
And watched for him so quietly
Karen decided to make a bang
And performed a science experiment
A volcano erupts in the forest
To lots of laughter and merriment!
Red team made their hands all colours
With paint to decorate the logs
Handprints of brown and blue and green
Like trees, the sea and frogs
A shop sprang up on the green side
And the children worked to make goods
To buy and sell and put on display
Using tools to make lots of foods
The green team created beautiful art
With UV sensitive paint
Katie asked them to lay things out
And encouraged them to wait…
When the sun had worked its magic
And changed the paper darker
They submerged their work and swished it around
To be revealed to the world by water!
The red team have been adventuring
To visit the herbs and the flowers
Wandering through these colourful paths
And under sprinkler showers!
It’s the end of term for all of us
And for some it’s our last goodbye.
You’ll go onto school to grow and explore
You’ll be brilliant and we know why…
Because you’ve got brains to fill your heads
And ideas that are “oh so cool”
You’ll go on to change the world
And it started in Forest School!
