We cannot believe that this is the last week of the summer holidays and we will be seeing all our friends next week. Time flies when you are having fun they say!
This week was certainly fun-packed and the time seemed to have zoomed past us this week.
We have noticed that the summer is slowly saying goodbye to us and the autumn is showing its first signs of arrival. The days seem to be a little bit cooler and the weather is playing tricks with us with the rain and the sunshine having a hide-and-seek game daily. We very much welcomed the rain that has been surprising us each day. With so much water pouring down from the sky we were finally able to slide down the muddy slope and jump in enormous puddles! Some of us created some creatures with mud and sticks found on the floor.
Apart from having a lot of joy with the puddles we were finding a lot of treasures on our daily adventure walks. From acorns, conkers, pinecones and feathers to leaves bursting with glorious colours, we had bags and pockets full of lovely gems. We used those for our imaginative play or creative designs. Some of us decided that the conkers looked like little eggs so we built a little nest for the eggs to safely rest on. We then pretended to be mummies and daddies protecting the precious nest from the baddies. With so many lovely treasures we thought that they couldn’t be wasted and decided to make some lovely jewellery with them. Using colourful paper, a pair of scissors, double-sticky tape and our natural gems we created nature crowns and bracelets. Some of us even tried to make earrings!
Whenever we sat down for our snack time or lunch we had a friendly visitor coming to join us. A little robin that saw a few crumbs laying on the floor decided to collect the left overs and sit with us through the meal time. We even tried to let him sit on our hands but we think he’s too shy yet but we will try to sit as still and quiet as possible so maybe one day he will be our friend for good.
We are looking forward to seeing our friends returning from their holiday next week and are excited to be going back to our room too. Our lovely, tasty food is back too so only more reasons to be cheerful! Have a lovely long weekend, we hope you can go onto a great adventure somewhere wild and we will see you all next week on Tuesday!
We hope you all have a lovely weekend!
