SPLAT, SPLASH, SPLODGE!
This week kick-started our half-term holiday camp, where we saw familiar faces, new faces and some faces of old. It’s been lovely welcoming back all our adventurers into the forest.
All our Little Forest Folk-ers and Holiday Campers were determined to be more mind-blowing than Storm Eunice, and took to the forest with strong legs, muddy wellies, and messy hands. We spent our very, very wet day this week dancing, singing, playing tag, and jumping in many many muddy puddles (of course!) It’s been a while since our last wet day, and it was a lot of fun getting messy. Educators, and adventurers alike, were having a whirlwind of a time in the mud!
Magical worm farms were created by building wonderful structures of sand, soil, and food waste to create the perfect home for all our wormy friends. They are now being hydrated back in our indoor room with Leopold, the snail. Following our mini beast adventures this week, we created a big 3D bumblebee and ladybird to fly about in our nursery!
The children impressed us with their many artistic skills this week, they used them to create special Valentine’s pictures for their families. Using an abundance of red paint and many wooden hearts, they made their wonderful patterns to celebrate a day of love. Chalk is in the air too, as we recreated Princesses Elsa and Isabella. The characters from Disney’s Encanto have invaded the forest this week, and our Educators are definitely ‘talking about Bruno-no-no-no’.
Acrobatics have been in display, with our swings, slack lines and hammocks being put the test. Our adventurers and Holiday Campers have been twizzling and twirling on the swing, flying high to new heights in the hammock and bouncing like bunnies along one of our longest slack lines to date!!
We have enjoyed this whirlwind of a week so much and want to thank everyone for having so much fun!! As we storm into next week, we hope you manage to find a little moment to rest and recuperate!
