It is holiday camp week, hooray!
It is always exciting to welcome some new and some known faces back into our forest.
The variety of new forest signature dishes kept the mud cafe at full capacity all week long! We had our chocolate cookie crumble pancakes, dried leaf sponge and mud ganache cake sprinkled with cherry blossom and our nut noodle soup. Mmmm.
We have been busy building dens, finding the perfect trees to stack our sticks upon and this week our super swing returned, which everyone was super excited about, queues were winding around camp.
There has certainly been a theme this week with the books our friends have been fascinated by with wildlife and nature have been the focus, from viewing the world through the eyes of a tree to how mummy and daddy sharks hold their young.
Our little adventures have had many opportunities to practise their motor skills. Twining string around sticks to create magical wands, using tweezers to collect green worms for supper, making papier mache Easter eggs and drawing on balloons without them popping!
We are witnessing nature waking up, finding bird and duck nests, there is a huge one by the pond! Camellias are blooming, pink petal are decorating the picnic floor. Flowers are creeping through the bushes and speckles of colour are appearing throughout the forest.
The highlight of the week would be our muddy puddle jumping! On our coldest and wettest day our forest frolickers took advantage and made the most out of the weather and really turned frowns upside down.
A date for the diary…
EARTH DAY!
Friday 22nd April
It is a fancy dress event with the chance to embody our favourite creatures of the forest.
It will be £1, all donations go to Chiswick House and Gardens charity.
Let’s get out our inner insects!
Another week full of gratitude, specifically for witnessing the world starting to bloom, after some rest. Something we could all take notice of and practise allowing ourselves some time to rest in this busy world.
Self-love note:
Fall in love with the now You, there is no need to put too much focus on the past or future version of You.
