We hope this newsletter finds you in high spirits, as we've had an incredible week filled with exploration, discovery, and unforgettable adventures alongside our little learners, the fearless explorers of the wilderness! Here are some highlights of this week’s adventures:
Wild Cooking Session: This week, our Little Forest Folk-ers transformed into culinary wizards during our wild cooking session. They mastered the art of creating a scrumptious banoffee pudding using bananas, vegan yogurt, and maple syrup. With child-friendly knives in hand, they skilfully peeled and chopped the bananas, and honed their scooping, pouring, and mixing abilities. The forest echoed with laughter and the aroma of their delightful creations.
Butterfly Bonanza: Following the immense joy we experienced with our butterfly activity last week, we delved deeper into the enchanting world of these majestic creatures. Our curious explorers learned about butterfly life cycles and were introduced to the diverse array of butterflies and moths found in the UK. Their enthusiasm and inquisitiveness soared higher than the butterflies themselves!
Mud Kitchen Delights: Our little learners had a blast in our muddy kitchen this week, whipping up a storm of delectable concoctions whilst honing their numeracy and measuring skills. They dived into leaf cupcakes, twirled grass spaghetti, and sculpted chocolate mud cakes. Our forest educators were amazed by their creativity and the joyous mess they created together!
Dinosaur Adventures: Imagination took flight as our explorers embarked on a prehistoric journey into the world of dinosaurs. They learned to identify different dinosaur species and created a dinosaur forest, bringing these mighty creatures to life within the depths of our enchanted woods. The children also used stamps to make colourful and roaring dinosaur pictures that adorned our classroom walls.
In the midst of all our adventures, we bid a heartfelt farewell to our beloved manager, Robyn. Her dedication, warmth, and guidance have left an indelible mark on our nursery. Both educators and children will dearly miss her, but we extend our best wishes to her as she embarks on her new adventure. Thank you, Robyn, for the memories and inspiration you have shared with us! 💖
Wishing you a delightful week ahead, filled with the spirit of adventure and the magic of the forest!
