Welcoming the new year in the forest is always so amazing! Seeing the children’s excitement at returning to the forest after the Winter break is so lovely and it’s great to hear about all their magical stories from Christmas!
This week we had the fun of watching a tree surgeon in the forest. This meant the children had the chance to see some chainsaws being used from a distance and watch some new logs being created. The children then discussed how to be safe around tools and we related it back to our own tool work; using gloves for sawing and walking around the edge of the allocated area when tools are used. We were also very lucky to have some new seesaws made from the chopped logs, which provided a lot of enjoyment for everyone who patiently waited their turn!
Another exciting celebration this week was our 8th nursery birthday at Wimbledon! We had a wonderful day where the children sang and made some mud cakes to celebrate, which was another amazing part of our week! We can’t wait to share many more exciting adventures in the coming years!
