What an emotional week we have had in the forest, thinking about our emotions and delving into our zones of regulation.
We looked at blue - feeling sad, green - feeling happy, red -feeling angry and yellow feeling – worried, and using four different coloured paints, everyone helped to paint four different coloured squares of cardboard. When they were dry, we all went on a scavenger hunt to look for natural items to match the colours.
With some of the left-over natural items, we decided to make our own faces. We used our senses to feel all the different textures and then stuck our chosen items to half a paper plate to make an emotional face to match our feelings.
At our circle times, we have also been looking at different forms of communication together and have learnt how to say good morning and goodbye in sign language, which we use for our Hello and Goodbye song. We have also continued to use our Makaton together throughout the day.
We have had a little wet weather which can only mean one thing………….jumping in muddy puddles! Everyone was wearing such ‘green zone’ faces as they jumped up and down and made sure they looked after their smaller friends by holding their hands.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend!
