Spring is starting to really show in the forest at Wimbledon and the children have been exploring all the signs of this that there are around us!
We have been out on adventure walks searching for any little thing that we thought could be a sign of warmer days to come. We found; snowdrops, buds appearing on trees and lots of new plants shooting out of the ground. We were also lucky enough to see some horses having a lovely walk around the forest, and they also looked happy at the warmer weather.
There was also the very important day of ‘pancake day’ this week, and not that we need any excuse to cook on the fire but this meant that it was pancake time for us! The children sat and helped build the fire before all being able to taste some delicious banana pancakes. Seeing them being cooked and smelling it around the forest was so amazing! (Tasting them at the end was quite good too!)
Our children have also been very creative this week with some mindful colouring, junk modelling and some large-scale painting. The forest is a great place to get some of the children’s ideas out into real life and they always looks great!
It has been another wonderful week at Wimbledon!
