“Would you like a cupcake”
This week at Wimbledon the foresters have been loving all sorts of play around food, and in both groups, restaurants have been set up. Some children used trees or pallets as their base while others spent their morning building a shelter using tarps, string, and long sticks. Once all built, they collected materials needed and placed them under the shelter. Some of the children even cleaned some of the mud kitchen equipment so that it was “clean enough to lick” as one child stated! The restaurants were fantastic at selling cupcakes, ice creams and even fish and chips. Yum!
Further in the forest there has been pulley systems set up for children to test out their lifting and teamwork skills. As always there has been an abundance of climbing, animal spotting and drawing. There has also been lots of sensory play with mud balls, corn flour and water as well as play dough with pasta.
A fantastic week exploring, playing, and learning in the forest. Have a lovely weekend all!
